Phase two of the mixed-use masterplan including: 115-bed hotel, a 50,000 sq ft, five-storey office building with ground floor retail space and a new public space outside Stockport train station. The road layout was reconfigured to improve access to the station and segregate vehicles and pedestrians.
To create a new central business district within the town, enabling Stockport to offer Grade A space in a highly sustainable central location.
Stockport Exchange will ultimately deliver up to 370,000 sq ft of office space and 28,000 sq ft of commercial floor space, along with attractive public spaces outside the railway station, improved car parking facilities and a wide range of cafes and shops at ground floor. Ease of access to the town centre is a major feature.
We provided pre-construction project management advice and contract administrator services during the construction phase.
Our duties included leading the appointment of the Contractor under a single stage D&B procurement route and managing the creation of the Development Brief and liaison with Client, Tenant and Hotel operators to gain approval to the document. Detailed experience
and understanding of the requirements of a hotel operator enabled us to ensure the detailed requirements were fully captured in the Development Brief.
We also developed a site logistics strategy that allows the station and other commercial activities to continue unaffected by the works.
