£117 million, 3 phase, residential-led scheme in Canning Town, London
To create an exciting new residential-led scheme in Canning Town, to contribute to the overall regeneration of the area, as agreed with the London Borough of Newham.
The regeneration of Rathbone Market is a joint venture between landowners the London Borough of Newham and developers English Cities Fund (ECf). The overall regeneration of this residential-led scheme will include: 650 new homes, a new market square with improved facilities for the market, new shops and cafes, public open spaces, new community facilities, a remodelled entrance to the A13 underpass and improved links between Canning Town Station and the market.
Phase one and Phase two comprising: 271 residential units (of mixed tenure) new shops at ground level and a communal eco garden; and 165 residential units, a new civic centre and library, along with additional retail space, are now complete. Phase 3 is now on site and will comprise of the final 216 homes, as well as, significant improvements to the access of Canning Town Station from Mary Street.
We have assisted Muse Developments in delivering phase 1 of the Rathbone Market scheme for English Cities Fund (ECF). This phase comprised 271 residential units being delivered in 20 months using unitised cladding and modular pod construction.
Our role has involved acting as Clients Representative under the building contract and assisting with the management of the design through many stages.
