IIED

Refurbishment of the International Institute for Environment and Development’s existing HQ building in London to provide open plan office space with                   small break out areas, a 60 seat auditorium and a café

The Vision

To sensitively refurbish the 1950s building to create an energy efficient HQ that enables IIED to work more efficiently and provide a more suitable environment for staff and visitors.

Our Role

We acted as project manager, contract administrator and move manager. In addition we managed the selection and procurement of all the furniture for the building. We also assisted IIED with the management and delivery of a number of internal project streams including change management, internal and external communications and knowledge management. In order to meet IIED’s environmental aspirations, we ensured that all materials and furniture were sustainably sourced and all waste generated by the site was recycled where possible. In conjunction with the design team, we drove an engineering solution which focused on energy efficiency including optimised lighting controls and temperature lopping instead of full air conditioning.
