Chester Storyhouse - Theatre, Library & Cinema

Refurbishment and extension of a 1930s Art Deco Odeon building to incorporate a 600-800 seat theatre, combined studio and rehearsal room with approx 150 removable seats, integrated central library, cinema with approximately 120 seats, dressing rooms, Green Room, offices, meeting rooms, technical offices, crew room and  workshop spaces as well as bars and dining areas.

The Vision

To develop a new theatre in Chester for both touring and producing work and to engage with the Arts Council as a key partner to leverage private funding to sit alongside Council and other grant-funding contributors.

Our Role

We worked closely with the Council to establish a strategic framework of governance and project delivery in order to move the project forward, ensuring that multiple workstreams of activity were developed in a coordinated manner. We also managed the delivery of a Stage I ACE funding application including design, audience development, business planning and project delivery plan.
