Buro Four were appointed to complete the office refurbishment and fit-out of the headquarters for the recently merged Charles Russell Speechlys
Charles Russell Speechlys was formed in 2015 as a result of a merger of two city law firms, Charles Russell and Speechlys Bircham. After merging and consolidating their workforce, Charles Russell Speechlys Bircham sought a new city base. Buro Four were appointed to refurbish and fit out three levels of the two separate buildings at the new headquarters.
Understanding our client’s requirements, we provided project management and contract administrator services during a 12 week construction programme at the headquarters.
At No.5 Fleet Place we refurbished and altered the existing level 7 which included; the reception, a meeting room, as well as the office space being transformed into a newly dedicated reception with an open plan meeting/dining area. Buro Four also refurbished and altered the existing level 8 which comprised of; a kitchen, installing a modernised cafeteria with improved catering facilities and a smaller but more appropriate library space.
No.10 Fleet Place was refurbished for the office to hold; 175 desk spaces, two office service centres, various meeting rooms and a break-out kitchenette with additional seating.
Buro Four held weekly meetings to ensure both projects were progressing on time and within the proposed budget. We understood the complexities of managing two different landlords at two separate buildings and therefore created a dedicated project team to ensure clear communication as well as to be as efficient as possible, within the constricted time frame available.
“Buro Four did a magnificent job leading our team of advisers and we were delighted with the outcome of this project. It was delivered on time and within budget and has enabled us to integrate out entire London team within 15 months of the merger which was one of our key merger objectives. The project was challenging logistically and rising star Tom Morgan and his colleagues were at our side and had a very good grasp of our requirements throughout”.

Weekly meetings demonstrated our commitment to the project and our client. The collaborative nature of our Project Managers meant that the complexities of managing two different landlords at two separate buildings was quickly overcome by working as one dedicated team, ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
