The refurbishment of an existing 1980’s office building which is owner occupied by Buckingham Gate Limited (Caledonia Investments).
The existing building no longer meets the needs of the client and the services and building fabric have become inefficient.
The project involves stripping the building back to its reinforced concrete frame, extending the footprint to gain additional area and replacing the external envelope to provide a ‘new build’ appearance. Internally the ground and first floors will be fitted out to Cat A level and let to tenants. The internal finishes from the 2nd to 5th floors will be both Cat A and B reflecting a tailored high-end fit-out to meet the client’s specific business needs.
All main plant will be replaced together with the creation of a new riser to provide modern air-conditioned offices, meeting rooms and a small catering facility. A new entrance and reception will be formed to enhance the arrival experience.
We were introduced to the client by Chapman Waterworth Architects and subsequently appointed to provide project management and contract administration services.
We have been involved since project inception, managing the submission of a planning application in April 2015 and currently supporting the client in their purchase of adjacent 29 Buckingham Gate site.
We will continue to lead the project team during detail design, procurement and construction stages through to completion We are providing a comprehensive and proactive management service to support Buckingham Gate Limited (BGL) on this important development which aims to meet Caledonia’s bespoke needs and deliver an impressive legacy for the company for many years to come.
