Buro Four asked Emily #Four questions.
1. What is your past construction/PM experience?
My background is in high end residential interior design; my move into construction was me wanting to get into the early construction stages. During university I worked on three placements the first at Bouygues Construction in the Sustainability Hub, at Gleeds as a trainee PM and finally, at Linkcity the development arm of Bouygues.
2. Why did you choose Buro Four?
My university head of course suggested B4 to me as she believed they had a company culture that would suit me. I was attracted not only by this recommendation but also by the size of B4 and the opportunity to work across sectors. Being a graduate, I wanted to keep the most doors open to me as possible; going into a large consultancy in which I would be forced to specialise immediately was not attractive to me.
3. What projects are you currently working on and why are you looking forward to getting involved with it?
I am currently working on Cardiff University and Manor Road which are projects in the Education and Residential sectors. I look forward to continuing to work on a varied range of exciting and challenging projects.
4. Tell us something that is unique or interesting about yourself?
I spent the summer diving in Indonesia, this summer I am planning a diving trip to Iceland where I can do some ice dives and dive the transatlantic ridge.
