Press release - January 2017

Buro Four is pleased to announce that the Directors have further strengthened the board with two additional Directors: Ian Higgs and David Boles. Following a number of recent significant projects wins such as the new Museum of London, Buro Four are confident that the broadening of our board and this further investment in the future will allow us to continue to provide an exemplary service to our clients. The appointments also illustrate the commitment we have to both reinforcing our expertise across our work sectors, as well as our continued dedication to regional growth.

Strengthening board

Ian Higgs brings a wealth of experience to the Buro Four board. He started his career at Buro Four, spending 9 years with us and working his way up to Associate Director. Following this he worked at a variety of other project management organisations, before forming his own business - which was focused on high-profile sporting projects, including the Twickenham Stadium for the Rugby Football Union and the Media Hub at the Olympic Park. He maintained a strong relationship with Buro Four throughout this period, before returning 3 years ago to Buro Four to offer his experience and expertise in-house again.

During his career Ian has been heavily involved in working on complex mixed use schemes and his experience has helped Buro Four further develop its business in the residential and mixed use sectors. He is recognised throughout the industry for his pragmatic approach on all of the projects he works on, as well as his extensive experience acting on behalf of the client. He will continue to focus on working with clients to deliver high quality projects on time and on budget.

Our Northern Powerhouse

We’re pleased to announce that David Boles will join the Board taking overall responsibility for our regional offices. David has been instrumental in significantly growing our business in Manchester and the North West over the last 8 years, as well as supporting our offices in Leeds and Birmingham. Our regional offices are an integral part of Buro Four’s overall offer and we are delighted that they continue to grow and prosper. Recent project wins at the University of Wolverhampton and with Bruntwood demonstrate how we are able to serve the needs of our clients across the regions. David will maintain strong contact with our clients and continue to input on a wide range of projects.

Growth of Arts and Culture

As well as the strengthening of the overall Board, there’s been significant growth in our Arts, Culture & Heritage Sector. We’ve hired industry leaders and specialists who, between them, have strong experience of working with the key institutions and clients. We recently hired Stuart Newton, formerly of Lend Lease, who previously worked on Wonderlab at the Science Museum and on the Members Room project at the V&A.

Simon Lewis, who leads the Sector for Buro Four is seeking to broaden and strengthen the service.  The significant Museum of London project win led by Project Director, Stephen Frame at the end of 2016 is testament to the strength of our team in this sector, which Buro Four is dedicated to continuing to build.

Buro Four’s Chairman Iain Roberts says of these recent promotions and growth: “We are delighted that Ian and David will be joining the Board of Buro Four. They both bring experience and energy to the Board and they will help us to continue to provide an exemplary service to our clients. This strengthening of the Board both serves the immediate needs of the Company to deliver our broad range of secured work and seek new opportunities, as well as supporting our long-term succession plans”.
