Four projects that we have worked on have been shortlisted for the RIBA regional awards: we have been shortlisted for three London RIBA Awards and one North East RIBA Award.

Wednesday 5 April 2017

Four projects managed by Buro Four won RIBA Regional Awards. The Mailings, The Fetal Medicine Research Institute, 55 Victoria Street and 40 Chancery Lane were all winners, The Mailings winning North East RIBA and the rest London.

The Awards seek to recognise projects that show a commitment to designing and developing buildings and spaces for the improvement and enhancement of people’s lives.

Details on the projects include:

The Mailings is a new sustainable community consisting of 76 low energy, eco-friendly homes in the heart of Newcastle’s historic Ouseburn Valley. The project put sustainability and encouraging a sense of community at the heart of the design. Buro Four were the project managers on the scheme and provided cost leadership.

The Fetal Medicine Research Institute is a 5,255m² centre of excellence for Fetal Medicine, where both the Fetal Medicine Foundation and King’s College Hospital are housed. The project involves the redevelopment of four buildings that will house facilities including laboratories, meeting rooms, lecture rooms, consultant offices and procedure rooms. Read more about our involvement in the project here.

55 Victoria Street consists of a conversion and extension of an existing office building into 54 high-class New York style loft apartments, ranging from oversized studios to four duplex penthouses. The building has been vertically extended by six additional storeys; it now covers a total of 74,000 sq ft of space and includes a gym and a sky garden. We provided project management and employer’s agent services. In order to read more about our involvement in the project, see further information here.

40 Chancery Lane in Holborn consists of the redevelopment of a prominent corner site in Midtown, creating a new office-led development, which still retains and integrates a refurbished 19th century building at the rear. We provided full project management and employers agent services to Derwent London on this project. Read more about the project here.

We’re proud that these schemes have been recognised by this prestigious awarding body.
