Buro Four involved in competition for iconic Holocaust Memorial project

Buro Four are part of the John McAslan Architect’s team who have been shortlisted to tender for the project

Buro Four were approached by John McAslan Architects to be a part of the team to work on the UK Holocaust Memorial project. The Government has committed £50m to the scheme which has cross party support. A total of 92 teams entered the original competition for the project. John McAslan were one of ten high-profile practices and artists that were shortlisted, after developing a proposal for a National Memorial and world-class Learning Centre. The memorial is set to be located alongside the Houses of Parliament.

The full list of shortlisted architects includes:

  • Anish Kapoor and Zaha Hadid Architects
  • Caruso St John Architects, Marcus Taylor and Rachel Whiteread
  • Diamond Schmitt Architects
  • Foster + Partners and Michal Rovner
  • Heneghan peng
  • John McAslan + Partners and MASS Design Group
  • Lahdelma & Mahlamäki Architects and David Morley Architects
  • Studio Libeskind and Haptic Architects

Immediately following submission all of the practices were invited to 10 Downing Street to present their work. A decision on selection is expected imminently.
