Senior Project Manager, Martin Smith, recently featured in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Careers Guide 2016 where he spoke on why he chose a career in the construction industry.
The article focuses on Martin’s background working in the property and construction industry, especially starting a career during the recession, along with increasing the diversity of the industry and RICS.
Martin is a Chartered Building Surveyor who chose to specialise in Project Management during his APC process and has been involved in many commercial and residential redevelopments within Fitzrovia, Mayfair and City of London.
Martin works to promote and support diversity within the property and construction industry, and is part of the networking group Freehold. Through his membership of this group, Martin helped to plan their first London Pride event back in 2014 and built on this for last year’s event which was reported in a special issue of the Estates Gazette.
Martin is currently working on commercial developments within Central London including 81 Chancery Lane, together with the refurbishment of many business parks within Greater London and CAT A office refurbishment at 20 Manvers Street in Bath.
